Jump Boots Around Ft Lewis

Post by Boudicca »

Anyone know a good place to buy new jump boots around Ft Lewis? My Ranger son has checked out the Foxhole but says they only have used ones. And he doesn't know if broken-in is better or not?? So, if anyone has a clue, clue me in and I'll pass it along, he's not getting internet right now, otherwise he'd ask himself. Thanks in advance.

Well maam, in my opinion, you really have to get new jump boots for a couple reasons.

First reason being, they're a very personal item, at least they were to me. And I wanted to be the one to put that first shine on them and break them in myself. If he's in Batt, he won't be wearing them very much at all, only with his Class A's couple times a year at most.

Second, if he's in Batt and his NCO's or Spc4's find out he bought 'used' jump boots and didn't shine them himself, he'll get his bags smoked. At least this would be the experience from my leaders there.

Appreciate it, Ranger Cams. We're kinda with you on the "personal item" issue. It's kinda like buying a used mattress; just not our thing!

Right now, he's having to get patches and ribbons spaced-and-placed and I didn't know if he could order these boots through AAFES, or what?

I thank you again, Ranger Cams.

Right now, he's having to get patches and ribbons spaced-and-placed and I didn't know if he could order these boots through AAFES, or what?

My husband was kinda shocked during OSUT, BAT and RIP that there was no patches being sewed on, and boot shines and zip-lines were more relaxed than during his tenure, however, he knew why--busy soldiers these days.

Anyways, I thank you again, Ranger Cams.
Roger. Ain't been out to Lewis for quite a time so can't help with the purchase. Just check on the net. Google "Corcoran Jump boots" you'll find everything you need.

New boots, absolutely. They have to be broken in to fit your feet.

I've heard that Eastern / Northern bullshit before. You know you can call a shovel an ice cream machine, but it's still a shovel.

And I don't know much about these so called "ball games" you talk of. 8)
