A piece of Vietnam LRRP history

Post by FOG »

I would like to share a video with you guys.......It was done by a young lady for a high school project this last month.

Just when you think the kid's today don'thave a clue, something like this comes along.

She spent a lot of time on it....did an incredible amount of research and got an A from her teacher.......

But I give her an A Plus!

It all started out with a POW bracelet that her Dad wore for years....

Nice! I'm usually shocked when most kids have no idea about our military history; this story contradicts what I've seen.

Last week, I asked my 23 year old nephew (E-3 in the Navy) if he knew anything about the USS Hornet and it's two lives during WWII, and he had no clue.

The current generation is mostly about themselves and have no clue (mostly) about history and things that have occurred before their births. On rare occasions (like this video), I'm surprised that some of this current generation give-a-shit about the past.

There is a lot more to this story........

You could make a movie about the story of Team 3A!

Unfortunately.....it will probably be forgotten...and pass into history like so many things that happened in Vietnam.

Not as long as I'm alive, or my kids for that matter!
Just what I was thinking.

I watched it and showed it to a few co-workers. It was well received. Good stuff.

That was incredible. The 'A' she received is paltry payment for the effort and quality of the work.
