Read that link and attempt to max it. It don't matter how many of what you can do. The RIP instructors are trained in the methods of finding out how many you can do then making ya do 50 more. You are pushed beyond your max so it doesn't matter. Just be up to speed and it's easier. Especially your recovery time. Endurance is the main thing to work on.

I read a book that a Ranger published recently and his RIP class started with them doing the dying cockroach on day one, until 40+ people quit. Then they started the regular training.

You've got to want it really bad gentlemen.

Everyone has advice about what exercises you should do and how much so follow that advice and your beginning will be easier. However, the powers that be are not interested in how many of which exercise you can do, they are interested in seeing if they can break your will. Read all you can, exercise more, run farther and faster, but in the end it will just be you and your desire not to fail. Because if you can do 200 pushups, they will make you do 300, if you can run five miles in 30 min, they will make you run it in 25 or less. So you see, what is relevant is not how many or how fast but rather, how strong are you mentally; it should be obvious to all Option 40 wannabees who have visited this site by now and if it is not, then its a lick on ur azz. It's not about what you can do, it's about doing what you didn't think you could do.
