Ga. Man Cited For Flying Too Many American Flags

Post by 289sotherhalf »

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. -- As Georgians and voters in 20 other states headed to the polls on Super Tuesday, most would consider flying the American flag a patriotic thing to do. However, one Glynn County businessman found out the hard way that flying too many flags is considered illegal.

"Really, it's un-American," said Gary Hudgins, the president of a car dealership near Brunswick.

He said since Sept. 11, 2001 he has been flying American flags from car antennas at the dealership, but recently he received a citation from the county ordering him to court to answer to charges of displaying too many American flags.

The businessman told Channel 4 he would not let the charges stop him from flying Old Glory.

I'd expect to see that kind of garbage in California, or one of the other communist states...but Georgia? Whoever tries to enforce that bullshit in Georgia is living dangerously.

My deed restrictions are so bad, you can't "work" in your garage with the door open (in Central FL in Aug.!?!), can't have any signage on your vehicle if it is not parked in the garage (with the door closed), and can't leave a luggage rack, or other removeable (ie bicycle rack, etc) item on your car or truck.....

And the list goes on and on and on .....

BUT........

As long as it is flown in a respectable manner, we can display the American Flag However, Wherever, and Whenever we want without regard to height, quantity, or size.....

I say we get some cash together and send this guy MORE FLAGS!!!!!
(or pay the fines for him.....  )

God Bless him......

This is pretty retarded and just goes to show you that some people in this country have nothing better to do than pick on other people. I don't see anyone bitching about all the fans that fly their favorite teams flags from their cars/trucks but one guy flying American flags on HIS business lot is a crime? COME ON!!! We should be siting Britney Spears for driving around putting on a parade daily causing traffic jams instead of wasting our time on stuff like this. Some people just have their priorities all wrong. God bless this country and our leaders. EOM SR

Every May 5th in Escondido, California, we had a neighbor who would drape a what looked like a 20'x40' flag over the front of his three story house :D We were practically in Mexico with all of the locals, but nobody would touch him, because he looked like he could have whooped the Terminator's ass (and he sat in front of his house having a BBQ next to his jacked up truck )
