Torture tested middle class Glocks that go 250k rounds without a hiccup vs yuppie 1911's that constantly jam........Tater Nuts wrote:There are GEO metro's (glocks) that are reliable, relatively inexpensive, and just like everyone elses. Then there are Corvette ZR3's (Kimbers, Wilsons, etc.) that are reliable, expensive, and say I am not like everybody else. I carried issue glocks for so many years I almost started growing wool, now I can carry whatever I buy, I have Kimbers (3).
To each his own ol crusty one!
I paid 700 for mine

First Impression
You sure don't have to guess where the round is going to hit. Shooting a fist size group at 15 paces is almost too easy. These things are machined real tight. I was starting to worry as I was getting mis-feeds on the first box of CCI Blazers. The round would chamber about half way and stop. A little nudge on the back of the slide and it would go home. You can see where the case is hanging up on the edge of the chamber. I am almost finished with my second box and the mis-feeds are getting fewer. I hope the break in process fixes this issue. :? Maybe I should lube it with valve grinding compound.

If you bought it second hand (sounds like it at that price), It could also be a worn spring...even with very few rounds...if the previous owner didn't know what they were doing, it could be compressed(I had a 10mm with the same problem...replaced the springs and it was good to go...)....I think you are right to run a couple more boxes through it first, spring second, file 3rd...
The Rifler file can be your very best friend (but be gentle...you can also screw up a really nice gun in a hurry--you can always take more off...kinda hard to put it back on)...
