smarts like all hell

Post by Grifter »

was out doing RIT (rapid intervention team, spec-ops for the FD/ save yer own type shit) training with a couple of local FD's today..was practicing breaching walls with sledgehammers..i had just breeched and proceeded thru a tight hole in the wall when a miscomm between myself and a guy on another side of the wall ended up with my ankle falling under his swing...sucked it up and completed the mission made it till end of duty today @ 1800 hrs before the damn thing started smarting a bit..got it checked by a paramedic..she doesnt seem to think he/I broke anything..wrapped it up.....

but damn does it fucking hurt now..where the hell are all the meds...need more beer asap....

Hobbled by your own...ouch!!! That has got to hurt!!!
Ice Ice and more Ice....

20 on 45 off elevated...and dont put that sumbitch under the covers for the next couple a days.....

Shit, feel bad for you Ranger... I sprained my ankle in PreRanger on the walk down a gravel road to the final AA...spent 2 days at the fookin no tell motel on Benning with my left foot in a styrofoam cooler full of ice and a couple cases of Bud in one next to me...watching soap operas and shit... resprained it EVERY fookin day in the Suck.....

Treat your injury stud...my only advice...treat your injury...

couldnt feel the ice thru the ankle wrap and tape, so i scrapped the ice in favor of more innercooling beer...

slept with it elevated on a pillow...woke up this morning with way less pain and was able to attend classes all day..i'm now home and have it elevated again. is still wrapped.

i have what feels like full range of motion and it generally feels ok .. definately not broken..i can weight it just fine right now..just gotta keep it moving..leave it sitting for a while and it tightens right up and then its hard to get started moving comfortably again..

thanks for the input guys...i didnt get an xray because i felt that if i could still perform all the work i did that day after the incident then it probably wasnt totally fuked.

Ok then, forget the pics!!!

Hope you're getting better. I stubbed and broke a toe about three weeks ago and it still gives me grief once in a while. Damn I hate it when I do that!
