going to meps on 11/13/07

Rangers and forum members,

I will be going to meps on tuesday. Im still looking through mos's to narrow down what I want. The system was down on Friday so i couldnt secure a spot that might be good. If anyone had any last minute info to hand down it would be taken. I will report back after I get home and let everyone now how it went. I told my recruiter I was sticking to wanting the option 40, he said i cant promise anything but would see what he could do. I said ill just have to wait and see, he replies dont give them a hard time down there. I just thought that was funny.

Just stick to your guns. They will come up with opt. 40 for you if you really want it bad. Good luck.

He's right. You don't need to give them a 'hard time.' If they don't offer you exactly what you want straight away, give them two good phone numbers and a good email address you can be reached at. Politely tell them to contact you when they have your option40 ready for you. Then get up and walk away.

That is exactly what I had to do in order to get my Ranger contract. Just don't give up. They want to fill the needs of the Army you want to fill your needs.
