Introduction

Post by Bikkstah »

Rangers,

Long time listener, first time caller. 21 years old, weighed around 400lbs in high school. Got to college, hit the gym, lost some weight (I've got a huge passion for exercise now and run a 3-a-day workout plan now). Got bored with the college scene, sought out a greater challenge and something more rewarding to do. I tried a semester of ROTC, thought it was pretty ok and decided to enlisting the National Guard with the intention of becoming an SMP cadet. Graduated Infantry OSUT last March and got back and found ROTC to be outdated and quite frankly, very gay. My unit was put on alert for deployment and I decided to pass up contracting with ROTC to deploy with my unit. Currently trying to finish or get close to finishing my degree before deployment (promotion points!). Transferring schools to go back home to spend time with my family and true friends (99% of my college friends became distant once I got back from OSUT) before I leave. I know a lot of people think the Guard is gay but our 1SG and CO run a tight ship and from my point of view, I think we're very well-trained and squared away. I partially regret not going active and not going on to more training (ABN and Ranger specifically). I was ignorant and didn't really look at all the options available to me, but I'm confident I'll get a second chance at bettering myself in the future. I look forward to learning as much as a dirty leg can from the Airborne Rangers.

That was kind of long-winded but that's me in a nutshell. Oh, and here are some before and after pics to prove my fatassedness, I know you Rangers are big on integrity.
