I could not agree more with the comments on this thread. Do NOT settle.

If Ranger RRDTm3 has given you a contact, USE IT.

Your recruiter can't reserve crap for you. It is the career counselor at MEPS that has to pressure the ROC. Your recruiter can however go to MEPS with you and pressure the counselor to work harder for you and advise you, he needs to be there to say "screw it we'll come back another day", cause that stuff that shows up on the computer changes hourly if not by the minute.
Stick by your guns, and around the end of the recruiting month, they will find a slot for you........

Trust me they will, BTDT as a recruiter, which is probally why my station commander disliked me.......................

Your recruiter is the typical lazy shitheads that I had the sorry pleasure of working with for about a year. He works for you, that's his job, pretty crappy sending you to MEPS alone. Drop him for the contacts you have been given here if possible. I understand the rules about recruiting out of your area but believe me deals can be made.

Thanks for the sound advice, Rangers. My recruiters boss, who is also Booser's boss called me today. It turns out there IS a way they can get that 11x opt. 40 for me.. lol.

I have to go down to their office tomorrow and they are gonna call the ROC. It may entail me going back to college for one more semester to get those 5 credit's I need to become a high school grad, but I'm more than willing. Anything to be a Ranger.

Buster,

Have you considered taking one or more of the CLEP exams for college credit? The College Level Equivelency Program (CLEP) offers many exams that offer college credit (if you pass). There is even a battery of exams that give you the equivelent of one year of college, if you pass.

Just a thought.
