Hmmmmmm. Not enough armor!!!

Unless I miss my guess, that's a '66 Chevelle. I had one in high school. It looked a lot like that . . . with Mindblower speakers and an 8-track blasting Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin!

The 283 engine would've handled the additional firepower on this unit, but the 2-speed Powerglide transmission was junk.

Edited to add: I was wrong! Ranger V-Rod had it right. It IS an Impala, not a Chevelle.

Really dating yourself with the 8-track there CT. Why don't you explain to the kids what it was, why it sucked so bad and why they don't exist anymore.

Yeah, Spartan, I know. The reason they got rid of them was that they'd change tracks just as Steven Tyler started screaming "I'm B-A-A-A-A-C-K, I'M BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN . . . " :D :D

OK, for the DEPpers, here's a link explaining how they worked:
http://www.8trackheaven.com/work.html

As you can read, they would change tracks to continue playing. The switch, it seemed, always came at an inconvenient point in the song, which is one of the major reasons they were junked. Cassettes were smaller, more reliable, had better sound and didn't "jump" in the middle of a song.

When it did that it kinda spoiled the mood. Especially on a song like Meatloaf's "Paradise By the Dashboard Light"!
