Introduction

Hello Rangers

My name is Rob. I'm 17 years old in my junior year of high school. I am going to enlist, i have made up my mind on that. I haven't decided whether to enlist now and go to basic this summer or not. I am looking to get an Option 40 on my contract when i do sign. I have recently talked with my recruiter and I am still undecided about when i will sign. I hope to learn and I am sure this site will help me decide. Thank you for the site Rangers.

It would be a good idea for you to read and understand the Board FAQ's: viewforum.php?f=16 And all the announcements and stickies at the top of each forum before posting again.

scapular, stay in school and get your HS Diploma.

Without that sheepskin you can not join & get OPT 40.

Oh and welcome.

I think the only way you can complete basic training in betweeen your Junior and Senior years is if you enlist in the NG. It's called the split-option or STO I and STO II option.

If you do that, you will never get an option 40.

Stay in school - chase much trim - stay out of trouble.

Welcome.

Ok, let's review what we have learned here in class today.

If you want to get an option 40 and become an elite Army Ranger, you must stay in high school and get your diploma.

Get it? Got it? Good.

Any questions? nope. You seem like a smart kid. Didn't think so.

Welcome and thanks for your desire to serve our great country as an Army Ranger.

Well I have decided I won't enlist now. I'm going to wait until the summer when I'm considered a senior and sign then. Thank you for all the advice Rangers.
