I guess it was a tough one, but I actually gave two hints, (although I quoted the line from memory and got the date wrong, it was actually "1973").

The movie was "It! The Terror From Beyond Space". Not a bad movie considering it was made on a shoestring budget in 1958, and while Jerome Bixby ( the screenwriter) never gets credit, it was obviously the basis for "Alien" years later.
I'll try to at least get the quote right next time. :)
