Personally, I'd be more concerned with getting in shape: gaining more endurance on your runs, increasing your time/speed, etc. Your whole life is going to be in disarray when you get to Basic anyway...you'll adapt.

That's an interesting article, Pete...however, I doubt that the Army is going to give up their pre-dawn PT tradition. That was the only reason I made the "adapt" comment earlier. He's going to have to do PT/runs every morning when he gets back in the service. After reading your article, though, it may be smart from an injury prevention point of view to continue with evening runs up until he ships out...
