I'm really not qualified to expound on this topic, but here's how I think it was done. In Battalion, when my platoon had hand-to-hand training, I was under the impression that the PltSgt and SqdLdrs had gotten together, either that morning or the previous night, and formulated the training. It was always good training, but it didn't appear (to me) to be a certain style, or something out of the Ranger SOP. I imagine that when putting together their training, they called on certain 'experts' in the unit in order to properly cover the particular points they were interested in (for example: taking out a sentry). I feel that they borrowed from several different styles to get techniques which were sound and easy to work with. Different Rangers had picked up different techniques and styles through the various military schools they had attended, as well as whatever they might have learned prior to enlistment.
