Fucking amazing what these guys come up with.
So BAC is held at Lewis now? Sure don't remember going there. Maybe I am the big Poser.
Ranger School isn't held at Benning anymore, not even the little fun part? Let me guess, you were so squared away that they just told you to take some time off and head to Mountains right? If my memory serves me correctly, Mountains was held in Yuma, AZ. Ahh, the good old days.
Then of course the third phase was held in French Guinea. Good ol' FFL used to teach that portion. And to top it off, we all jumped back into Fort Bragg to graduate with the Long Tabbers....

I just got home a little bit ago and saw what all you guys have been up to
the last couple of days. Time is tough for me to come buy . But I told you all that up front.
The thread is labled Rangers ,Vets,Wives/Parents. Being new to the forum I took this to mean I could ID myself with some of my experiences as a Combat engineer. I never lied to you guys. I may not be the best at puttin things in order , I know the Rangers I was with would be wicked pissed If someone just tried to call themselves a Ranger. But that was when we were 20 years old. I made it clear in my PM to explain my service .
I was not a Ft. Benning grad. But I guess not all of you saw the PM I sent to the moderator.
As a Combat Engineer we built more than one obstacle course. One was as we were told be in the manner of the Darby Queen. So when it was done we all had to go the mile . I never ment to say that there was a US Army jump school at Lewis . But If your Chain of Command Deemed you worthy you could be trained to jump. Airborne is highly encouraged in all combat units . Wait I should say, was 25 years ago.
That is something else about my time in that may be different from some of you guys.
Before President Reagan. It was very much looked down upon to have anything to do with the military.
I remember well the pride he restored to the military. but it was after I got out. I'm not sure how to properly describe this next part.
But the lack of support from the country at the time was felt through out the military. And a lot of training was not up to par. standards were lower.
And some of our people never went home . All of our tranning NCO's were Nam Vets, And without any malice I have to say that they were still fighting that war. So they saw it as thier solem duty to make us ready . And I can Assure you they did thier job . If they tried to do it in the manner "OF THIER OWN ACCORD" Today they would all still be in Levenworth . I only spent a small amount of time with the Rangers . But I can tell you all plain that the Combat Engineers exposed us all to a lot more danger than any tranning I ever went through with my Ranger Buds.
So how could I have the unmidigated gaul to see myself as a Ranger!
It goes back to one day in Yakima after we had compleated live fire for the day.
One of the Rangers in my squad came up to me and stuck a Ranger tab in the cammo cover band of my steel pot. And said "Well Corporal you have kept up with us so here you go". And that's all I got as to any Ranger credentials.
I said to the moderiator in my PM to him I would have no hard feelings if my service was not up to his standard's.
I accept all of the blame for any misunderstanding.
I should not have said "I earned my tab" it sent the wrong message.
Thease are the actual events of some of the things I went through .
But time would not allow me to respond untill now .
And that my have hurt my fellow Combat Engineers. that hurts me the most!
For what it's worth The 15th Engineers were in ww2 Barrics built by German POW's On a part of Ft. Lewis called Norh Fort.
I know.
I lived there off and on for almost 3 years.
But if after this post you still think the same of me I will not return .
I accept whatever you decide . I came here to be a positive element.
It sure never occured to me that I would run into this.
I diden't even expect my login to work . But it worked so I thought it was worth a try to set things right .
Please refrian from the use of pitch forks and tourches .

You explained in your pm ( yes I read it)that you were sent to Ranger School by your first Sgt. in Jan. 79. I can quote it if you would like. Now you are changing your story to say that someone stuck a Ranger Tab in your hat. You are back stepping and trying to cover your lie.Combat Engineer wrote: I made it clear in my PM to explain my service .

Fuck you.
You pm'd me too, everything contained within was fucking bull-shit.
You stated thet jump scholl was at Lewis and you stated a Ranger class # 1-79.
Don't blow smoke up our ass with this "the Army was different in my day" bull-shit.
You lied.
Simple as that.

I don't think so; or he would have been more accurate. Were there ever any other BAC schools?Tater Nuts wrote:But did he stay at a holiday inn express ?Flesh Thorn wrote:You explained in your pm ( yes I read it)that you were sent to Ranger School by your first Sgt. in Jan. 79.
