Foreign squid reporting in
Served in the Royal Norwegian Navy 2003-2004
Applied for submarine duty, but no slots available at the time (the silent service here is almost entirely run by officers, no more than 20 slots open for non-officers)
So, as one of the few motivated (military service is mandatory here) and fit guys I got a job as assistant DI - so though I am a squid by service, I served my time on firm ground.
Currently studying engineerng, will probably re-enlist afterwards.
