I had a 40yr old Chaplain in my class. He may have been crying on the inside, but on the outside I've never seen anyone who could remain so positive and cheerful. I can't tell you what effect it had on the platoon. Honestly, I still wonder if I could have made it through without him.

Welcome Frank. You don't have to understand why the title "Ranger" is required, it just is. This is their house; we are just visitors. Think of it as rank. When off duty, and you see one of your senior NCO's, you still call him SGT, right? If not, he'll smoke the fuck out of you in the mall, in front of all the civs.

It would be a very good idea for you to take the advice that has already been given.
If you are serious about re-entering the service and possibly becoming a Ranger there is a lot of information right at your fingertips. Use it to your advantage.
