Medic question

Post by muddy »

I am seeking a path to becoming a Ranger medic. I have searched this forum and other internet sites, and I can not find very helpful information. I was talking to my recruiter, and she said that I could enlist as 91W with airborne in the contract, and the request to go to Ranger school. Throughout my research I have found things that contradict that. The only thing I have found was about a Ranger that got to attend SOCM. I tried the online chat with recruiters on the goarmy.com website but they were no help. From what I have found so far is that my best bet would be to enlist as 11x with option 40, and then make my way to SOCM. I was wondering how do they select those who go on, and if you could request it. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hey Meathead, what the fuck is SOCM? If you wanna be a medic, that is a good thing. We can always use em. I am sure we can find someone to square you away on your question. Make sure you pay attention to what they tell you here and you will be fine. Listen to the other DEP's in here, for the most part they are a bright bunch. Naturally they are still all fucked up but they have potential. I am sure that they will square you away. As a matter of fact.....

I have just read that on other sites that I have found while trying to find out about it. From what i have read, it is special operations combat medic training. I think it was in Ft Bragg, but I don't remember. If I posted something wrong, I apologize, but the reason I am here is to ask questions so that I can learn more and sort out what is wrong from what is right.

don't worry about SOCM. It'll be there if you get that far.

Worry abut becoming a Soldier.

Read about getting an Option 40 and do what it says.
