Oh boy that's all I need! More junk to buy for the uniform I wear once a year in a DA photo! If I read it right though you can wear either the GWOT-X or one of the two campaign medals. Think I would wear the campaign since any fool outside CONUS in support can wear the GWOT-X (GITMO)

It sounded like you could wear BOTH so long as you qualify for both. If you made a trip out and that trip covered your requirement for OIF, then you get thae Iraq medal. If you made a subsequent, or previous trip and that trip covered your requirement for OEF, then you get the purty one with the eagle.
Military personnel may receive both of the new campaign medals if they meet the requirement for both awards. However, officials said the qualifying period of service for one award can't be used to justify eligibility for the other. Just one award of each of the new medals is authorized, as no service stars are prescribed.

I wouldn't worry about the DA photo. It'll be a while before the medals are actually awarded and then it'll be more time until HRC figures out who is eligible and who isn't. I would say with 99% accuaracy that it will not affect your board at all, the other 1% is some dumbass sitting on the board thinking he has a secret no one else does and everyone else will be convinced he is a fucking LEG!

I stand corrected, I didn't think anyone would have a medal that you had to put yourself in for and pay out of your own pocket as well. :D
Most of us received our Certificates, but I personally didn't know about an actual medal..Shit now I'm up to 20.

The certificate was the only thing authorized. The Cold War Medal was commemorative only, Ranger SB.
