Computer guru's need help with picture resizing.....

Post by BadMuther »

I have a picture that I need it to be resized down to 100k.

I did it myself, but it came out too small.

I need it resized to 100k and make it 2 inches by 2 inches?

I'll have to email it to you, I can't post it here.

And on the subject, what's the best free pic hosting place out now?

BM, can't offer a good recommendation on a hosting service as I don't have any photos hosted anywhere. As far as the picture is concerned - does it have to be exactly 100kb or only smaller than 100kb? Also, does it have to be exactly 2x2? I ask these because it's always more complicated if things have to be exact. If your original picture isn't square you'll have to crop some of it to make it exactly 2x2 (otherwise the picture will look distorted). If shrinking it to 100kb makes it smaller than 2x2 (or making it 2x2 causes it to be far from 100kb) then you'll need an image editing program that will allow you to change the size in kb without changing the size in inches. Are you looking for advice on how to do this or someone that can do it for you? If you need help just pm me.

Ranger BM, I can help you out with that. E-mail the picture to bob51c@yahoo.com and I'll get it back to you asap.

The best free image hosting website I have found is ImageShack, found here: http://imageshack.us/

Appreciate the help, mission accomplished.

Isn't there a free software program that will resize pics?

If you are running MSN Premium you can use the Picture It program to resize your photos then use Photobucket to store for hosting.

It has worked well for me.
