How do I get started?

Post by Gunrunner »

To start off, my name is Paul. I'm 15 years old, and a sophomore in High School. It's always been my dream to serve my country, and I figured what better way then by being a Ranger. I know I'm a bit young, but I only have 2 more years of high school, and I want to find out how I can get started in the Ranger process. I have hindered vision, and a past history of asthma( not anymore) I'm fairly athletic (football, wrestling, track) but would my medical faults hinder my chance? Thanks for the help in advance.

What guns do you run, youngster? What is "hindered vision"??? When was the last time you had an asthma attack?

Gunrunner, thanks for coming on the site and asking the questions. Asthma may or may not be an issue depending on if it was a junvenile only issue. Lung Capacity Test and others will help determine if it is an issue.
Eye sight should be correctible to 20-20.
We appreciate your honesty and your post. However, I think our rule is 16 or older before we allow in depth involvement in the site. Im not chasing you away, I want you to search the FAQ's for some of your answers.

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

The best thing you can do right now is hit the books and run, Study then run. After you are done running, run some more. Seriously, it is good that you being a sophomore you are looking to the future. Get that diploma, you are going to need it if you are doing great in school and have a great GPA, then start studying for the ASVAB. Go to your local library, they have several books on the test. Some even have sample tests. Good Luck 8) 8)
It's all good.
