Will1701-
How goes your research project? What were you able to come up with from the terms I gave you?

Don't be afraid to come back around and critique your work or your grade.

Ranger fatboy,

The project is definitely going well. I researched all those terms you provided, I'm certain they will be very helpful in my presentation to the class. Currently, I am waiting to hear back from Senator Blumenthal who represents my state on the United States Committee On Armed Services as to his opinion on the subject. I also emailed the president of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Organization about possibly doing an interview and I am also waiting for a response from him.

Ranger Jim,

That is a very interesting article. I will make sure to include information on the women who have served with distinction in cultural support teams.

Thank you Rangers.

One name was mentioned in Ranger Jim's article, Lt Ashley White. Another name not mentioned was Captain Jennifer Moreno. Both were CST members.

Two additional females not mentioned that you might find interesting are Sgt Leigh Ann Hester and Pfc Monica Brown.

In my research of women in the military I actually came across the account of Sgt. Leigh Ann Hester's actions. Really incredible valor from some of these women.

Thank you Ranger Jim.
I have actually read about how women could soon be registering for the draft. I do find it funny how some women will say men and women are equals and should be able to serve in the same combat roles that they want, but they don't want women to register for the draft.

To address your post in my introduction thread:
I presented yesterday and it went very well. My presentation earned an A and my teacher was glad to see how in depth I went with the project. As to my findings, I learned a lot about both sides of the argument. It was interesting reading about the Female Engagement Teams and other women who served proudly among male combat arms units; however, from the facts and hearing from those who serve or have served in combat arms roles, I am of the opinion that these positions should just belong to men. During the discussion following my presentation my teacher brought up the topic of having female only infantry, artillery, etc. units and see how they perform. I felt that this was an interesting idea, but it would be great to hear what former or current Rangers think of this.

Congrats on getting a good grade on the presentation.

On to your question about segregated units- the standard that I talked about earlier doesn't change because of the gender involved. Combat does not magically get easier because you have a hairy bean bag or because you ride a menstrual cycle. Is that artillery shell going to get loaded easier when its an all female gun team? How about that resupply operation to an outpost on a ridge line where the only access is a goat trail straight up and everyone is carrying their body weight in supplies?

Having a gender segregated unit does nothing for readiness or defense, it just gives the progressives a pretty unit to parade around. What makes a unit combat ready is one standard. For everyone.

My opinion, worth the 2 cents you paid for it.
