Voting changes-2014

Post by rangerjd »

Don't forget that this year to make things easier and lines shorter, all conservative/Republican (not always the same, sad to say) voters will vote on Tuesday, 4 Nov 2014 and all Democrat/liberal voters will be voting on Wednesday, 5 Nov 2014.

Just kidding!!! Seriously, one of the rights that you have served or are going to serve to defend, is the right to vote. There are a lot of countries out there that don't get this right. No matter your political preference. Get informed and get out there and vote. Tuesday 4 Nov 2014

Washington state has gone to an all mail in ballot, I hate it, but I just got my ballot in the mail and I'm mailing it out this weekend.

I guess you're never to old to vote. My question is, do any of these voters have death certificate, or does that only happen in Chicago.

News story from Oakland CA is that they mailed out a bunch of voting notifications for November 5th, they are re-mailing everyone.

I wonder if there was any one political party that was more highly represented than the other or if the notices were sent out evenly among Democrats and Republicans?

I just voted here in Michigan.

At my age and with my grand kids in a school system quite a distance from my voting area I have not kept up on the local school issues but have voted for millage needed in the last election. Imagine my surprise when I realized that there were three positions open on the local school board and nobody had run. I live in the same county as Flint MI which means I live in a fairly liberal county although I am out in farmlands so most of my neighbors are fairly conservative. I plan on having a few discussions with them about why they think no one ran. I find it hard to believe that long time residents of this area are so apathetic about education. It was one of the greatest concerns of our founding fathers that education was essential for the well being of our country.

We had a measure on the ballot to increase taxes to help lower class size. The problem is every time I heard one of these left coast politicians discuss this issue I never once heard them explain how they were going to fix the problem, just throwing money at it doesn't fix the problem. I'm tired of giving liberal politicians money to spend and having them spend it on everything but the problem. I voted no, my wife, the school teacher, voted yes. We voted exactly the same on everything else. Normally we vote the same, but every once in a while there is an issue we disagree on.

There were a lot of shenanigans going on here in the PRC (people's republic of connecticut)2. Hard to tell who would be the benefactor because the election was so close (as in "All the President's Men", ie-follow the money..) but somehow things were redistricted at the state. There were several thousands who were turned away because the polls weren't ready to open at the appointed time. I was able to vote, but even I was sent to a new location without prior notification.

At best, a piss-poor job of letting people know what was going on. At worst? Well.. They call it Corrupt-icut for a reason...

For the record; both candidates were douchebags..

Repubs tend to vote earlier than Dems. If a person gets turned away they may say "F it." and go home.

Even Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are taking shots at the Democrats:
