Celebrate America? Not allowed. Cinco de Mayo? Required

Students in a Colorado high school asked to celebrate America for a day during a spirit week. They were denied because it wasn't PC enough. They asked for a My Country day instead. They were denied again. However, the school does require all to participate in Cinco de Mayo activities...in America.

It's actually celebrated much more here in the states than in Mexico, it's like the Mexican St. Patty's day

Isn't celebrating America done on July 4th, November 11th and Memorial Day in May 26th this year?
