Site Changes

Post by Ranger »

Since I know everyone likes change!!!! You have probably seen the site going through some hiccups/changes/ and a bunch of other stuff. Over the next few weeks there will be some changes done to the site.

Most of it is to keep the integrity of the forums since there is so much data on it. At times you may not be able to log in or it looks like the site has crashed (Probably true), but not for long I hope. There are still quite a bit of things to get done with trying to clean up all the old code/images and useless content on the site.

The current front page of ArmyRanger.com will also be changing. If you have it bookmarked it may not work as it once did. With this change I am working on directing it to a a more secure login. If you get a strange box that opens asking you about the security certificate, just look at it and make sure it is to armyranger.com As for the content on the front page, I will be moving or attempting to move the important content over so that we still have it.

If you have any questions write your president!!!

Nice change.

I went straight to my profile and changed the dark color to silver. I guess I prefer this one - it is easier on my eyes.

There are only two color styles right now. I need to work more on the site now to get things set up and then I will add some more styles. The two colors are Ranger = red/yellow/black. The other is Ranger Grey = Red header/ grey/white.

You can change your style within the user control panel. You can also customize your layout in the user control panel then click on portal tab.

Jim what changes were you expecting??

Play around with it a bit and it will grow on you.

Personally, I like the Ranger template. Good contrast, easy to read and easy on the eyes.

The Portal is a nice interface as well.

Looking forward to more neat stuff.

Thanks Ranger.

After fiddling around a while, I am liking it better. The Portal is handy for summarizing the latest posts and who is on-line. Note there is a "BOT(BING)" listed as on-line. Any PC savvy people who can explain this to a FOG?

Anyway, I want to express my appreciation for all the work in changing the site. Looks good.
