I just remember being out on patrols and running out of water. We'd have to fill our camel backs from little random streams with filtration pumps. We had one Ranger who we found dropping a deuce upstream while we were filling up.... FML.

This is the one I use on day trips and in the boat for long bass tournaments instead of buying bottled water. No batteries or electronic parts to break and does an amazing job, even takes the nasty taste out of rivers and lakes.

This is in my pack for extended trips, 3-7 days, and it also is amazing. This thing filters food coloring out of water! Had it for two years and still do not need a filter replacement.
