I'd love to know who the old, bald guy is, teaching the young guys how to kill with knives and machetes. I figure he learned his fighting skills against Germans with pointy helmets. I also dug the whole fencing with the M1918 bayonet (just about as long as a Roman short sword).

In a couple of scenes there is a black guy, or a really, really dark Phillipino. I wonder what's up with that.

I also wonder, is this the Rangers being trained, or is is the Ranger combat school, and the Rangers are the trainers. The reason I ask is because of the black guy, and because some of the guys being trained are wearing Navy clothing.

Here are the words of Lt. Gen. Lesley James McNair that
are shown at the end of the last video:

"Our soldiers must have the fighting spirit. If you call that
hating our enemies, then we must hate with every fiber
of our being. We must lust for battle--our objective in life
must be to kill
.... Since Killing is the object of our efforts,
the sooner we get in the killing mood, the better and
more skillful we shall be when the real test comes
."

"The struggle is for survival----KILL or be KILLED."

signed, ----Lt. Gen. Lesley James McNair
Chief of the Army Ground Forces

"We are not going to be Killed!"

Funny, I was wondering who's little white dog that was running between everyone's legs all the time. Must've been the old, bald badass's or the CDR's....

Humping the logs uphill and then downhill did not look like fun at all....I'm glad Grange never saw those movies!

I'll have to take a look at the footage when I get home (Youtube is blocked here), but it sounds like it could be Alamo Scout footage (they were a "color blind" unit), or possibly the forerunner to the Alamo Scouts, which was an Army-Navy joint force.

The bald guy is likely Francois D'Eliscu, who established a Ranger School at Schofield Barracks. Hit the link above then search on the word "Ranger". Interesting reading.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe ... scu+ranger" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; produces some interesting results as well.

I have stitched the 9 segments together in to a single .MP4 file, but it is 158MB. I will try to find a way to post it shortly for anyone to download.
