And it was the day I was born. Four days later (20th) was the day Apollo 11th landed, and I was brought home from the hospital.

And the government that wants to take care of your every need, cradle to grave, almost lost the original film or erased it.

I think they did lose it, but some private collector had copies and restored it for them.

I remember sitting in the hooch one day talking to our hooch girl about the moon landing. She had attended one year at the University of Saigon so she knew it was real, but of course most people there didn't or at least acted like they didn't.

1969 was a good year, many wonderful, intelligent individuals were born that year.

I was in a swamp outside Moc Hoa with 200 of my closest Vietnamese friends. Heard it on the nightly news from AFRC.

It was in nov'69 when 4 Ranger Teams stopped overnight at a ARVN base near An Khe called, Hard Times. We were going to do a mission for the ARVN's the next day.

I was having a conservsation with an english speaking ARVN Soldier & he told me that the US had put a man on the moon. I acted like I knew all the time so he wouldn't know how stupid/uninformed I was.

I guess I was having a jungle walk while an astronauts was having a moon walk.

Here's an interesting video of Buzz Aldrin punching out some POS young punk that called him a coward for saying he actually walked on the moon, when it was faked:
