1st Plt.
Norm, was out in end of June 85, so I assume 29 Palms was after (or I'm really in trouble).
Come on, besides the bold letters that say "29 Palms", it does look like I remember
Yakima in 84.

29 palms was the middle of 86. We spent about 3 weeks in the desert be for doing a live fire mission in Utah. That is when that A Co. Medic was killed. Norm is in this picture, back row, tall, ugly looking dude.

He may have been an RTO, but was friends with a b co. medic, who was sent to his funeral back home. they went to rip or something. I think it was Doc Bean. From what I heard, he got up when the bangalore was going off, and took a piece of sharpnel in the heart. Norm, when did you leave Batt again? I ETS'ed 3dec86

High Speed, state of the art, cutting edge technology

MP5SD, PVS-5 and a foot and a half long whisper mike duct taped to my shoulder!

Other items from Reagan's Rangers...the SOP mandated four magazine pouches though for the 270 rounds basic load, Two canteens, strobe light, compass pouch, first aid pouch, and a sling rope to tie yourself into the Little Bird with.

On this particular mission we had one magazine (I think it was a training mission to clear an airfield in Alabama). No blanks, so only one magazine was given (I don't make the logistic plans, I just carries them out). As to the second question... I don't know. That was 25 years ago.

In the photo from OJC, I had all the stuff mentioned on an H harness. I thought they were much more comfortable, they just never dried out. Instead of the 4 ammo pouches, I had 1 standard ammo pouch and one SAW pouch filled with 7 5.56 mags. So 10 + 1 total.
