Where I am it is already Veterans Day by almost an hour and I'd like to take a few minutes to thank all of you that have gone before me and continue to go into harms way to protect our way of life. I went to the bar at the embassy this evening to show my support the Marines on their 233rd birthday, so if what I'm typing doesn't make a lot of sense, fuck off, you get the point. THANK YOU VETERANS!!![/i]

Thank you veterans (and current Active Duty, Guard & Reserve) for your service.

In my family, there are three of us now considered Veterans:

My father (26 years Active Duty US Army)
My brother (22 years Active Duty US Air Force)
Me (9 Years Active Duty Army)

feeling pretty fucking old now and wish they'd give Veterans the day off from work (with pay)!

O-no! Look what happened to my buddy, the squirrel flag bearer. I guess I had better stop using "O-kay!" before the little people come looking for me...

Veterans Day 1966.....we were setup on a trail in War Zone D. I leaned over and whispered in my Buddies ear, "Happy Veterans Day. Are we Veterans now....or do we have to live and make it Home before we're Veterans?" He whispered back, "Cole, you're fucking crazy!!!"

All gave some....Some gave all!!!!

Thank you, every one of you!!!

I went to Arlington this morning to decorate a couple memorials. You all are on my mind and in my prayers. A passage from a poem by Laurence Binyon (1869-1943), came to mind

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
