Shooting spots

Post by Blacksheep2/75 »

Looking for locations in Seattle/Marysville area to target practice in the woods. Getting tired of the "one round" rule and want a little freedom.
Anyone in the area please let me know of any current sights you know of please.

Thanks,
Jim

There is this one water tower that I had been keeping my eye on for a special occasion..........

Seriously though, if you head out into the real woods like out HWY 410 past Greenwater down the 70 road (Forest Service Road) or one of the others that lead way up. If your interested I will attempt to find a LAT/LONG of at least one other good site.

There's a huge place to shoot just down the road from you. I think they call it Ft. Lewis.

Seriously, unless Weyerhaueser has changed their policies, their land is generally open for that, assuming you don't damage their timber.

RangerStew, thanks for the ar15.com link. That may open a lot of possibilities.

Black 6, Latitude & Longitude would be great. Maybe even a linkup if you're still in the area.

FireFinder, I had heard the MRC had closed, but worth looking into anyway. Looks like fun and maybe I have bad intel.

EP, looking for Weyerhaeuser policy refers me to WDFW.

The two places I knew about now have "No Shooting" signs posted and declare it a "recreation area".
WAC 232-13-130 Firearms and target practicing. (1)(b) It is unlawful to discharge firearms in those portions of department lands where or when such discharge is prohibited by department posted notice or from or within five hundred feet of a department designated campground. Violating this subsection is a gross misdemeanor if the violation creates a substantial risk of death or serious physical injury to another person, pursuant to RCW 9A.36.050.

"Camping" means erecting a tent or shelter or arranging
bedding, or both, or parking a recreational vehicle or other
vehicle for the purpose of remaining overnight.
"Campgrounds" are department-designated areas where
camping is allowed.
I will see if WDFW is willing to send me a list of these locations.

Take 410 thru Greenwater and then take a left on fs 70. Plenty of spots out that way bro.
