I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

I am all about trusting my Ranger Buddy... but, there comes a time when you have to VALUE your life.

I see no sense in taking stupid risks. To me, this is stupid.

I have been a Cave Diver for years and years. I would NEVER enter an overhead environment without redundancy. Period.

I see your point about being bored with your sport once you master it... but, still... I would never EVER enter an overhead environment without two of everything.

Murphy doesn't give a flying fuck how good or bored you are. I have gotten to the point in my diving... to where it is routine. Mixed Gas diving, long deco... no worries.

I still have at least three lights, three reels, independent first stages, multiple second stages, hell... I even dive with a spare mask. Spare fin straps.

Again... Murphy is a motha fucka. 8)

And that's what it's all about. If you're that good, you can pull stunts like that off and do it while mitigating the risk. I think it's bad ass.

Jeb Corliss wants to fly — not the way the Wright brothers wanted to fly, but the way we do in our dreams. He wants to jump from a helicopter and land without using a parachute.
Now, ya see... I would TRY to fly one of those... but ain't NO MUGGAFUGGIN way I be fallin' from no aircraft, whilst in flight... without no Chute on my back... no sirree.
