Post by IntelToad »

...give or take a few days, this happened.

Where did the time go ? This is before most of you DEPS were born.

I remember where I was. I was 13 years old and laying on my parent's gameroom floor, hockey stick in hand, watching the game on TV. Although we thought it was live, apparently it was on delay. After they won, I remember people honking their horns on the street and running outside.

I just got the dvd "Miracle" which is awesome. My 6 year old son now knows where the term "Herbies" came from when he's skating at practice. :D

Before that game, the last time I'd been so proud to be an American was when I watched Neil Armstrong take his first steps on the moon.

I wasn't born yet.
That aside, it's the greatest moment in sports, hands down.

Your 6 year old son is already doing Herbies?! That poor kid is going to be the next Sidney Crosby lol.

I grew up playing competitively, and thought that "Herbies" sucked. They have nothing on Monkey Fuckers.

We will never have a moment like that again in tha age of Pro's playing in the Olympics. The great thing was that they were college kids beating the best team in the world.

That was a great moment. I was 11 and still remember it was after the commie bastards had invaded Afghanistan... had a feeling of moral superiority about that victory.
