Watched it a third time and there is one line in the movie which sticks out like a sore thumb to me... very beginning narrative when the one-eyed Spartan is recounting the tale to the men his last line... "It was King Leonidas himself who provoked it (the Persian Army)." The line is delivered with the intonation that seems to suggest the man is criticising the way Leonidas handled the matter at the very beginning. It doesn't seem to jive with the Spartan ethos.

Saw it for the first time tonight on IMAX, I avoided reading anything about it (I like to go in fresh!), just unbelievable, fantastic, new favorite movie beating out Munich by a nose, I couldn't help to romanticize how sometimes we reffered to each other as Spartans and even when a RIP instructor told us that is what we should strive to be.

From the wall looking at the monument. The road, monument and all the farm land behind was under water.

The wall. (Or what’s left of it)

saw the DVD last night. It's a copy made from the booth up where the prjector is. The quality is very good except two point. One there is a man standing up at the end and two you can't read the writting at the end very well. Otherwise it's not bad. Awesome fight sequences.

I'd hope that you would be able to post some present day photos.

The documentary on the History Channel did a good job with a birds eye view of the terrain, but it's great to see actual photos of the site.

Thanks Ranger Chiron.
