It would be a descendent of a French dog.

Belgian Shepard

Origins
Belgian. A hard working shepard dog around since the Middle Ages. There are three other well-known varieties of Belgian Shepard Dog, all of which are considered varieties of the Groenendael, differeing only in color and coat type. These are the Tervuren (long coat of various colors), Malinois (short, straignt coat) and the Laeken (rough wiry coat). The Groenendael distinguished itself in the First World War as a messenger.

Personality
Hard working, obedient, attentive and intelligent dog.Vigilant with strong guarding and herding instincts, it makes an excellent guard dog.Needs a lot of excercise. Enjoys wars.

Neopolitan Mastiff

Origins
Italy. Direct descendants of the Roman Molossus of 2,000 years ago. Mainly found around the Naples area and used for war, police, guard and draft work. The breed was rebuilt after WW2 and has increased in popularity since then.

Personality
Generally of a friendly disposition, this dog will generally only attack on command. But beware, this beast needs space and is happiest when given a job to do.

Hopefully, it'll be another 50 years before I start looking like that though.

Collie

Origins

UK. Can be either Rough or Smooth depending on the coat. Evolved from the same stock as other Scottish herding dogs, believed to be descendents of dogs accompanying Roman invaders 50 BC. Although some authorities claim that the breed was brought to Scotland from Iceland only 400 years ago. The Rough Collie was introduced to England in 1860 by Queen Victoria and seen in the county of Northumberland. It is thought that the name Collie derives from the black-faced sheep they drove. MGM made a star out of the Rough Collie in it's roll as Lassie.

Personality

This breed makes an excellent guard, being naturally suspicious of strangers. It is extremely loyal and affectionate to it's owners, a joy to train and usually reliable with children. Brilliant acting abilities.
