Air Force to stop searching for pilot's body

I imagine stopping the search has to do with pulling out of Iraq. Negotiating the pullout should have had the condition that the Iraqis hand over the body or we stay until they do. Troy Gilbert was a good friend of my brother's. He forwarded me an email he got from Troy's wife after the interview:

Hi everyone,
I am honestly so exhausted from sleep depravation and emotional exhaustion that I know I couldn't possibly have emailed everyone I intended. But despite all that, here is the link to the news story shown here in San Antonio last night. Many people are beginning to write their Senators and Congressman. Between that and all the prayers that have been lifted up in the last few days, my spirits are lifted and I have a heart of thankfulness. If you feel led to help our family in the pursuit of justice and can take a few minutes to write your representatives, it would mean so much... Basically a short letter stating that you, as a citizen, are asking the USAF to continue the search in Iraq for Major Troy Lee Gilbert's body, which was taken by insurgents, shortly after his crash in November 2006. And specifically, ask for his status in DPMO (Dept of Missing Persons) to be changed to KIA/ Body NOT Recovered and that they will then, make a case file for him. This will give his search and our family a "place" in the system of search of recovery and recovery now that the war in Iraq has ended.
Thank you for your loving support. Please pass along to anyone you know. And may the Lord bless you for using your spheres of influence on behalf of this tired mom and wife. But most of all, on behalf of Troy. He would have done the same for you.....
Love,
Ginger

Looks like the Air Force wised up and decided to not leave a man behind. Thanks GoldCoast and anyone else who supported this.
