'Vietnam in HD' Shows War in Excruciating Detail

Post by C-MAC »

In honor of Veterans’ Day, the History Channel is premiering a new, six-hour series, “Vietnam in HD.”

Following the success of its Emmy-winning series, “WWII in HD,” the History Channel’s new documentary focuses on one of the most controversial chapters in U.S. history: the conflict in Vietnam.

Culling thousands of hours of uncensored footage from war correspondents and never-before seen film shot by soldiers on the front lines, “Vietnam in HD” follows firsthand accounts of veterans who served during the conflict in Vietnam.

By the way, those of you who served in Vietnam- you have my undying gratitude.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve --
is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.'

I have my family sit down and watch these presentations. It provides infinite value to show the extreme sacrifice some have made on our behalf. It is also first-person illustrative and offsets the counter factual propaganda of the liberal leaning education system.

Appropriately, you will never see my family walk past a veteran outside the supermarket without saying "thank you" and making a donation. They have also especially gained a significant appreciation for Vietnam Veterans, whom we see much more often as the WW II and Korea veterans leave us, for their courage, sacrifice, perseverance and valor both on and off the field of battle. IMHO these are the role models so sorely lacking in today's contemporary society.

Like a train werck, I've watched the first two and, while I had some disagreements with their memories of what went on, I thought it's very well done. It's kinda weird for me, seeing it from an Infantrymans perspective.
