Damn. I was just thinking about this the other day. They are exiting the aircraft at an alarming rate.

I can only hope that he finds the same quiet piece of land wherever he may be.

BTW, I was surprised (I am sure you are NOT) at this small piece of Ranger history;

"After returning home, he married his wife, Ethel, in May 1948 and trained infantry and Army Ranger units at Fort Dix during the Korean War."

A true hero and a real role model to alot of young LT's who saw Band of Brothers when it aired in 2001...I know a lot of us took his example along with us when it was our turn in OEF and OIF. He can now join all his men once again the slip stream. RIP, Sir.
