CIA interrogators waterboarded 9/11 planner and al Qaeda chief Khalid Sheikh Mohammed 183 times in March 2003, and another al Qaeda official, Abu Zubaydah, 83 times in August 2002, the New York Times is reporting today.

The paper also reports that the frequent waterboarding of Abu Zubaydah was done even though, according to a former CIA interrogator, he agreed to cooperate less than a minute into the interrogation.

The Times report comes on the heels of the Obama administration releasing the Justice Department memos drafted during the Bush years to give legal cover to waterboarding, which until then was widely recognized to be torture.

I would be happy to lend my industry knowledge of the fire sprinkler industry to the cause of automating the process. We would waterboard 10x the terrorists with 1/10th the people. Hydraulic calculations could prevent water waste and increase efficency in mass production. By implementing 'lean' processes, we could build a system that could waterboard the entire country of Pakistan in under 6 months, or your next country if free!
