I was already in Viet-Nam when troopers from the 82d began to arrive as replacements. They already had been awarded the CIB. One told us he was looking forward to being in contact so that he could get a star (second award) for his CIB. My Sargent told him, "No, I heard how little fighting went on in the Dominican Republic. You came here to verify that you earned a CIB."
