Cant view the link. Silly USSOCOM security policies.

Is this in reference to the Lodge Act that allows the recruitment of foreign nationals and they receive their citizenship after 5 years of service? I believe it was repealed or it simply ended in the early 60's. Whats the gist of this article?

I can open it and I thought it might be good to give our members a history lesson. Following WWII, there were thousands of combat veterans wh0 had become "displaced," because their homeland had been taken over by the Soviets. The US recruited these men in Europe, and after they spent five years on AD, were granted their US citizenship. Many of them remained on AD and joined SF and even became officers. When I came on AD in 1965, we still had a quite a few of them around. A number of them served in 10th SFG in Europe. Interesting era in Army history.

I remember back in the day we had a number of senior NCOs in 6th Group who could barely speak English, and not because they were wetbacks from south of the border.
