Sitrep- Brar

Post by Brar »

At the hotel, and waiting to get shipped out tomorrow. Excited and nervous, but in a good way. I want to thank all the Rangers who have mentored me to prepare for RASP, especially Ranger Disinfertention.

Rangers,

I have graduated basic and now moving on to the ait portion of my 11b training. Basic was basic. A lot of time wasted around formations, and a little smoking. Smoking sessions were the only thing I looked forward too, because we literally did not do any pt in my company. We ran once every couple of weeks.

I graduated with a 270 pt score, 62 push ups, 87 sit ups, 14:30 run. I came in with a 14:00 run, but since we never really ran, I have slowed down. I do pt on my own, because pt here is not enough. Most of the opt 40’s here are not that motivated. Some of them did not pass the pt test, and some just want to drop it. I see most of the guys just writing letters, or sleeping after lights out. And that is the time when I do my pt. I feel like it gives me a advantage mentally and physically.

I am on family pass leave currently, so now the black phase starts. The good thing about this phase is that I can go out and run on my own instead of just relying on the company workouts. Also Im a 22 weeks 11b training cycle instead of the normal 14 weeks.

I have memorized the Ranger Creed, and studying the history.

That’s all I have for now. I appreciate all the Rangers for their good lucks.

You have learned what everyone on this site learns after they get into the Army... That sometimes you can only get out of the Army what you put in because many of the courses are watered down to the lowest common denominator. Don't let that diminish what you have done so far. Stay close with those that are like-minded and have similar goals and you'll do great.

It was a great experience getting to speak to you and Akidfromcincy the other day.

Rangers,

I have completed the 22 week infantry training. We finished FTX last Sunday and also did the honor hill ceremony. We are on recovery till Dec 18 and Dec 19-20 is graduation. After that I go on a 10 day block leave. Which I like, because it will give me time to recover, and start pre-rasp fresh.

I have been doing pt on my own and also been studying up on the ranger history. Today I did a pull-up and leg pyramid workout. Where I do one pull up, then run 30m and do x2(pull ups) power jumps, then run back 30m to pull up bar and do 2 pull ups, run back x2(pull ups) power jumps and so on. In the end I did around 110 pull ups and 220 power jumps( 1-10-10-1 pull ups and 2-20-20-2 power jumps)
David(Ranger atl456) from ArmyRanger.com told me to buy the rasp 1 study guide, so I did and have read the whole book and have memorized all the 146 questions in the rasp history study guide.
This is all I have for now. I feel pretty excited and nervous for the journey ahead.
