SITREP -Cameron

Post by CameronB325 »

I'm not the strongest writer but I'll do my best here.

I'm staying in the hotel tonight before shipping out to Fort Jackson to begin BCT. I'll probably post again around Christmas time because of the exodus to tell you guys how its going so far. Looking forward to what the army has to offer me.

VBL started today, but all of my graduation requirements for BCT are complete. After VBL it's just waiting and doing pt until we graduate and move onto AIT.
I've performed fairly well at basic. My last and highest pt test I scored a 269 with 61 Push-ups, 79 Sit-ups, and a 14:20 2 mile. Lots of improvement and still so much more to go before rasp. One of the drill sargents in my company here has been in the Regiment for 9 and a half years before becoming a drill sargent. The past week or two I've asked him questions about preparing for rasp and what it's like. I've gotten a lot of good information from him. I now have the Rangers Creed memorized because he printed it out for some of us.
That's about all I've got as of this far, just going to enjoy my VBL and work on improving my pt and then get back to work in January.

Good update Cameron. You'll have a lot of fun learning how to be a 13F. They just recently added the JFO course to your AIT so I'd be interested to hear how that works out for you.

Ranger Jim, my holiday leave hasn’t been super eventful. I’m still doing pt and running, and since it’s here I’m mixing in weights with everything to gain a little extra strength. That’s about it, I’ve just been enjoying time with family and using this time to look up any further questions I have about the army.

I’ll post again after my BCT graduation in January before I head out to AIT.

I graduated from BCT today. Graduated in the top 10% of my company, and now I’m ready to move onto AIT at Fort Sill. I’m one step closer to making my dream a reality.
My goals for AIT are to get my pt score to a 300 and get promoted coming out of AIT. I’ll update you guys more as my training progresses.

Great work so far Cameron. As a fellow 13F, earn your MOS and do well! Try to update me on how the 2 weeks of JFO is executed for you. I've been trying to get feedback on that from folks like you experiencing it since they made it part of AIT instead of a separate school.

Rangers, I’ve finally completed AIT and my graduation is set for this Thursday. I’ll be moving onto Airborne school shortly after to complete this next step.

The JFO course was the most interesting part of the cycle here. Just the basics of it so when we get to our unit it’s easier for us to learn.

I’ll more than likely update this again whenever I graduate from airborne.

Great to hear from you Cameron, it has been awhile. Glad you've been focused on learning your job. If you see SFC McKuin before you leave, make sure you tell him you know "some weird dude from ArmyRanger.com".

Let us know when you get to Benning! Are you ready to shuffle around for 3 weeks? You better PT your ass off in the interim.
