Rangers, I apologize for the delay in posting a SITREP, I haven't really been sure what to say. Week 12 of 16 I developed a chronic knee pain and hip pain, I tried to tough it out but was noticed by my senior platoon sgt. With a noticeable limp after a buddy carry, he told me to go to sick call the next day. After I went it was found that I don't have much holding my knee together and my hip isn't doing much better. I was pulled from training with 2 weeks until going to camp bullis. I tried to get better through physical therapy but after 6 weeks I saw no results. They've reccomended me for med board and at this point there's not much I can do. They're pushing me through the process.I'm kind of lost in direction at this point, before I was injured I was running a 285 pt test and was top in my class for EMT and whiskey phase, I was one of the few option 40's in my class that was excited for the path ahead, I was confident i could do great things in my career. They told me I should be out by June/July and should be getting a more specific diagnosis within a few weeks. I'll post updates as soon as they come in.

Roger Ranger xray.
I definitely tried to heal and did everything in my power to come back but the doctors here weren't very optimistic. They've said it'll be 8-12 month before I'm 100% again. But that's the good news is I'll eventually be healthy again.

Ranger Jim,
Right now I'm just going through the process of the medboard and I'm about halfway through. As far as long term goals the main one is to become healthy again. After that I want to come back. I'm not done with the army, the army is just done with me for now. I don't feel as though I've repaid the debt I owe to this country yet. I'm looking to get out and use my GI bill to get through paramedic school and fire academy which I've started studying up on while I'm stuck here, get married and hopefully get to a point where I can get back to fighting(mma). I know returning to active duty will be a long and hard process but in the 8 months I've been in I've found this is the environment I thrive in and want to be in so I'll be back.

John, another week has come and gone. Continue to fully heal yourself and ensure that you maintain all the paperwork so that when you are finally discharged from the Army, you have the documentation to deal with the VA. Never, never quit!

Roger Ranger Jim.
I'm looking at about another 3-4 months here before I'm out. I'll be going on leave soon so it'll be nice to get away for a bit. I'm going to take the opportunity to get checked out by my orthopedic surgeon back home and see what he says about recovery times and if I'll ever be back to 100%.
