Thank you Ranger Jim and Ranger CharlieRanger1FFV. Extra pt has definitely paid off and I'm sure it will continue to do so as I move along in the pipeline. I'm home on holiday block leave right now. I go back to begin week 11 on January 3rd. I'm in a Mortar company so I am an 11C. I graduate January 30th and my Airborne date is said to be February 9th. So far OSUT has been pretty easy. It can get boring due to all the sitting around but when it comes to the actual training it is great. Urban Ops has definitely been my favorite training so far. I have one more week of Mortar training and then FTX and I'm looking forward to it. To anyone going to OSUT soon, my advice is to utilize anything and everything this site has to offer and to take all advice these Rangers have to give because if you do you will be incredibly far ahead of the curve. Workout like crazy when you get personal time. Guys will be writing letters and bull shitting but my recommendation is to get your workout and studying in and just wait for Sundays to write letters. Find guys that are faster and stronger than you and use them as motivation and competition. It will make you better trust me. I have a guy in my platoon (also has opt 40) who beat me at every pt event by a hair when we first got there. Every pt test my goal is to try to blow him out of the water. Having someone like that also keeps your focus. At least that has been my experience. That's all I've got for now. I will post another update as soon as I get a chance.

Roger, Ranger Jim. I am in Pre RASP right now. I am doing well. I've been Training and studying waiting to class up. I graduated BAC with class 11-15 Bravo Company. Airborne school was pretty simple as long as you pay attention to the Cadre and dont do anything stupid like go out drinking. If you don't pay attention and don't listen u will fuck up on something stupid and get recycled. Make sure you are working out all through Airborne just like it says on every post you read on this site. It would not hurt you to ruck either. Just don't be an idiot and hurt yourself. Jump week was awesome. Jumping is an amazing experience. Once I got one in I was just dying to get another one. Who wouldn't love it?
Also, remember you are training with NCO's. Show them respect. I witnessed a kid lose his 18x contract and get dropped from the course and told he could never come back due to disrespect to one of the NCO's. Study all you can in Pre RASP and workout like crazy. Pack light when leaving Airborne like they also tell you all over the threads on here. It makes things a lot easier. Live your life here by Ranger cdwdirect's advised strategy. I have not even began RASP yet but this advise really applies to most everything I have been through so far.

1) Don't be a little bitch.
2) Do exactly what the Sergeant commands you to do.
Don't over think things and never forget why you came here in the first place. I see guys lose sight of it all the time. Do whatever you can to make sure you are constantly reminding yourself and keeping motivated.

Good SITREP, good attitude! Keep that attitude going all the way through RASP. Remember, it's going to SUCK, but that's why you're here isn't it. If it were easy, everyone would do it. Give everything you've got, every time you give and never, ever quit! RLTW

I classed up this past week. First week came with a bit of surprises trying to throw off anyone that already knew what events were supposedly taking place each day. Cole Range is this week and I'm as prepared as I can be. So far what I can say is to always expect the worst and prepare for every outcome. Take it each day at a time but be prepared for the days to come. I will post another update next week.
