SITREP-BuckysGlock

Post by BuckysGlock »

Rangers & the interested,

I have knocked down my 50m target by graduating BCT yesterday morning. I left as my Platoons PG as well as graduating as the distinguished honor graduate. BCT was not really challenging as far as training and physicality go. What was challenging for me was some of the people you deal with on a daily basis. My final PT test I scored a 292 which was slightly disappointing but I hope to reach the 300 on my first APFT in AIT.

I am currently lining up my 75m target as I take the 7 hour bus ride to Fort Sam Houston to start my 68W training.

Motivation is high, my goal of becoming a Ranger creeps closer by the day. I will put in the work and I will make it to the 75th.

Good Sitrep stud. And great work. You've had your first taste of those that want to really be there and those that will be legs their whole life. Take it heart and keep fighting on. 100% and then some.

I'm confused in that I thought you'd be going to RASP1 first and then on to 68W AIT. Or am I confusing that with SOCM? I'm not a medic so that is most likely the case.

Either way, great job so far. One step at a time. Keep your nose clean during off hours and stay away from the negative minded shitbags. They'll bring you right down to their level if you let them.

Ranger cams,

From my understanding my pipeline is BCT>68w>Airborne>RASP>SOCM. It's going to be a tough/long journey but I'm all in. I appreciate the encouragement.

Good to see you continue to progress. The order of things change by class. Bottom line for you is that you have a challenge ahead of you. Please read all the letters from school that reference 68W option 40. Particularly Ranger Bloody Limey and Ranger Grimm666. Never, never quit!

Roger Ranger Jim,

Unfortunately I am stuck in reception here at Sam Houston until December 9th. I'm using this time to get in extra PT (got a nice tire to flip!) and get a jump start on my EMT training. We are also getting Christmas exodus from December 20 through January 2 so I will need to keep my head on straight given my extra free time. I did treat myself to some Green Bay Packers tickets but I think that's as crazy as I'll let myself get! Well it's lights out here and that means one day closer to my goal.

Here's to hoping all you Rangers and trainees have a happy and safe holiday season.

Rangers and those interested,

This Friday I will have knocked down my 100m target of graduating 68W AIT, again as the distinguished honor graduate. I gave it my all the past 16 weeks and it has proven worth it.

My PT has also increased. I was able to score a 310 on my record APFT while here.

As for what's next, I will be a holdover here at Ft Sam Houston for an unknown amount of time waiting for a spot to open up for Airborne School. Also, 6 additional RASP contracts were given out to my peers here in Foxtrot Company; all of them well deserved.

I would also like to apologize for not doing a SITREP earlier; 16 weeks is a long time but I didn't feel much was SITREP worthy until I had proven myself capable of passing the course. Happy to answer any questions about the course.

Thanks for everything so far,
BuckysGlock

Congratulations! That is the first step in your long path. Now do not neglect your PT while in holdover. Our group was in holdover for almost 4 weeks. Make sure that you keep yourself out of trouble, and keep up with the PT. Any advantage that you can gain will help. That is great to hear that there are a few more on their way to see me down here LOL!!!!! Now focus on the next target completing Airborne. Again this is one place it seems that a lot of people like to get themselves in trouble. You have some free time and people don't know what to do with it. Make sure you keep up on your PT there too. Spend your extra time at the gym and getting ready for RASP. You have made it this far good job. Keep it up!!!!

Rangers and those interested. Just wanted to pop in really quick and let you all know that I graduated RASP yesterday with class 08-14. I will write out a good SITREP next week but right now I'm enjoying some much needed time with my family!
