Do us a favor and go and post an introduction in the proper section (read the SOP's for reference), we like to know who we are talking to.

Welcome to the site and thank you for your service.

There is no hardest phase in my opinion. When you take a leadership role and you're smoked and the rest of the guys around you are smoked as bad or even worse and factoring in shitty weather, that could be your worst phase. RAP is just as advertised. If you can make the PT standards and can do land navigation you should be OK. Learn operation orders like it's your job (it is).

Oh yeah get a head start on your knots. Good luck.

There really is no honest way to answer your question.

Don't quit is the stock answer...and the only correct answer...suck it up....

But for a different look on things:

Have you seen Martha Stewarts show? It ain't like that.

Have you seen movies/documentaries where guys in prison get raped by other guys in prison? It ain't like that either. (Pre Ranger maybe....but not RS)

it's somewhere in between....

Just learn the info in your Ranger Handbook (you have one, right?) and you will learn everything you need to know to graduate while you are there...learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others....

Once you are leading men in the real world...that is where the true leadership counts...

What is true leadership?

How about chosing this as a personal goal/definition:

"leadership is the ability to get people to do the things you want them to do...because they WANT to do them"-- The Author is your homework...don't just be a fucktard and google the phrase...work for it... or don't...but the way you handle it will tell YOU not ME how you will do mentally in RS....

If that helped...you are welcome...if it didn't...go play GHAFYS....and have a happy day!!!

The hardest part was the night missions in Florida. Our platoon was terrible at conducting a mission at night. NOD's were not our friend. It was individual soldier discipline. People didn't seem to give a shit about doing the right thing. I was lucky and got nothing but PSG planning in Florida.

When it starts pissing on you at night in mountains, you'll find out that even your Ranger buddy will fuck you in a heartbeat. Just so he can pull out his poncho and go to sleep. You better be ready to kick some people in the ribs/neck/nuts to keep them awake at night!

They're doing away with the Dog Ex. Atleast in Florida. I'm not sure about Rogers or Merrill.
