Airborne School
Airborne School
Well Rangers, veterans, DEPs. Today we in-processed into Airborne School. The Ranger recruiter paid us a little visit, separating the RIPies from the rest of the company. Offering us one shot at giving up our RIP slot. A number of people quit ALREADY not even day 1 at Airborne they quit. Whiteman was one of them. But that just motivated me more. Looking forward to the training and earning those wings .... AIRBORNE!

SFC hit_it, I'm actually not to sure whether or not he's staying. I know he wants to go to the 82nd. Whether or not the Army let him stay in Airborne or not I do not know, sorry.
The 34foot towers were extremely fun. I hesitated a bit the first time, but I managed to have a strong exit.... with Sergeant Airbornes' help. Tomorrow we practice PLF's. Over all I'm keeping high spirits and looking forward to RIP. Even though I know it's going to be a suck-fest.

Re: Airborne School
What platoon and stick are you in, Hairy? Feel free to send me a PM. I'm here at BAC in the same class as you, and I was surprised to see so many people give up their RIP contracts, my friend included.
The attitude towards RIP that I have right now is basically... if they want to fight me, I'm just going to have to kick their ass; something along those lines. Not that I actually think they will fight me haha, but I know that I have to take everything they give me with the attitude that I will conquer it and challenge them. At the moment, that's really the best way to make me feel so motivated. RIP is a few obstacles from now though.
I'm excited for tower week -- I love the SLT. My PLF's are less than perfect so I'm happy to have the opportunity to work on them some more.

Re: Airborne School
Don't worry about the quiters. Just keep your mojo strong.
The 34 ft tower is the hardest & most painful thing about Airborne & you got that beat.
Remember, a total malfunction doesn't hurt at all, it's that sudden stop that does, and that only hurts for a fraction of a second.
Did anyone man up to volunteer for any of the new opt40 openings?
