Rangers,

I ship off to Ft Benning in 8 days. I am excited to begin this great adventure but also nervous. I have off the next week, so I am focusing on training and resting with no distractions, with the focus being on improving my pushup count. I feel very lucky to have an Option 40 contract and I am determined not to let it go to waste. At this point I know the Ranger Creed better than I know the Soldier's Creed. I will keep this thread updated on my progress.

Current PT scores:

Pushups 2 min: 68
Situps 2 min: 79
2 mile run: 13:44
5 mile run: 39:12
Pull-ups: 11

Do your best in whatever training that you are doing . . .that means 100%. On your off time work on your PT, your scores are good, but could be better. Make sure that you hang out with trainees that are focused and are of the same mind set as you. Stay out of trouble & don't do anything stupid that would keep you from becoming a Ranger. Stay focused on YOUR goal . . .and as Ranger Jim says Never, Never Quit!!!!

Ranger Affirm, if my experience is anything similar to yours I will be very happy. This is my dream job and I've always pictured it the way you've described. Now it's up to me to make it happen. I won't quit!
