Option 40 Update 27 FEB 2015

Post by PerryB »

Checked the status for option 40s this morning. I did not see any 11X option 40s for high school seniors or grads. I did see option 40s for MOSs 88M and 25P for seniors shipping in July. For grads I see option 40 for MOSs 92 A,G,W,Y AND 88m shipping in March. Right now USAREC is close to missing the mission for March which is why nearly every grad is shipping within 2 weeks. Hope this helps it doesn't mean you cannot get a 11X option 40 it means I just did not see any training. If you have any recruiting questions please let me know.

Good Luck,
Perry

PerryB,

I went to MEPS in Pittsburgh yesterday and got fully qualified for airborne without any sort of waivers. I am 22 years old, and graduate college early this May with my Bachelors. When my guidance counselor checked, he too saw no 11X OPT 40s. He called the ROC and the only thing they gave him was an 18X shipping 20150525. I decided to leave and wait rather than sign the 18X. As I was signing out at the desk with my fingerprint, he came running back to say the "Top" was calling the ROC on my behalf, but I had already been signed out of the system so it was too late and he gave up, so I left.

I understand I may need to wait a while, but when I called my recruiter afterward he seemed pissed and I'm not sure if he's even going to check the system for me anymore. Would you happen to know when 11X OPT 40 will hit the system again, or anything along those lines? That's the only contract I want. I thought about 68W like many others, but my heart is settled on 11X. Sorry if I'm being a bother. Thanks!

Seasn, you are not a bother. To your recruiter, you are only a quota -- it is your life. This is why I asked PerryB to post an update on Option 40.

Ranger Jim,

I appreciate your continued assistance. I'll keep an eye out for PerryB's posts and focus on PT and school until I get my contract. Thanks again!
